Obituary

Adam Buechler, 95, Hague, ND, died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Linton Hospital, Linton, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague.Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Thursday, with a prayer service at 7:00pm at the church.Adam was born on February 18, 1922 in Hague, ND, the son of John and Barbara (Ell) Buechler. He was raised and educated in Hague and graduated from Hague High School in 1940. Adam served in the US Army from 1942 1943. He also attended NDSU in Fargo prior to being drafted. Following his discharge he returned to Hague and farmed with his father. Adam married Viola Schall on July 20, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hague.Following their marriage they lived in Hague where Adam continued to farm. They moved to Minneapolis in 1951 where he continued his education in accounting. Adam worked as a bookkeeper in various Minneapolis businesses and worked for Peterson Seed, later Pioneer-Hi-Bred as a seed chemist. He also built houses with his brother, Pius. He retired in 1988 and returned to Hague. They enjoyed spending winters in Florida.Adam was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague, Knights of Columbus, Hague AMVETS, and Hague Senior Citizens. He enjoyed spending time on the computer and especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Adam is survived by his wife of 68 years, Viola, Hague; sister, Frances (John) Eberle, Bloomer, WI; sister-in-law, Charlotte Buechler, Hague; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and six sisters.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church Roofing Fund, Hague.
