Adam L. Jangula, 91, of Hazelton, ND, died April 15, 2011 at the Strasburg Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at St. Katherine's Catholic Church, Braddock with Fr. David Richter and Deacon Ken Wolbaum officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 9:00am to 9:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Adam Leo Jangula was born on the family farm on February 26, 1920 to Martin and Kathryn (Bosch) Jangula. He started school in a country school. In 1927 the family moved north of Hazelton where he attended the Dana School. In 1933 the family moved east of Hazelton where he attended the Hazelton School through the 8th grade. He spent his teen years working on the family farm. In 1939 he went to a C.C.C Camp at Sidney, Montana. He rode the freight train several times to and from Montana. On October 7, 1941, Adam married Angela Magrum at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Braddock. They lived on several farms in the Hazelton-Braddock area before moving to the farm west of Braddock. In 1943 to 1944 he was an Army tank driver at an army depot at Lima, Ohio. He returned to North Dakota to farm in 1944. In 1947, they moved 5 miles west of Braddock and farmed and ranched until they retired to Hazelton in 1989. Adam and Angela spent 9 winters traveling the US and Canada in their motor home. He served 10 years on the Hazelton City Board and was a member of St. Katherine's Catholic Church of Braddock and a member of Hazelton Seniors and the Bismarck Eagles. He is survived by his wife, Angela Jangula of Hazelton, ND; seven daughters and sons-in-law: Kathleen and Charlie Sayle of Nantucket, MA, Victoria and Robert Jackson of Kechi, KS, Angela Paulette and Tom Murray of Wilmington, IL, Linda and Ray Kelsch of Linton, ND, Janice and Larry LaBonne of Dubuque, IA, Sandra and David Baumgartner of Braddock, ND, Reyne and Glen Kapaun of Summerset, WI; one son and daughter-in-law: Carter and Renee Jangula of Lincoln, ND; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law: Lena and Harry Wolbaum of Braddock, ND; three sisters-in-law: Zyta Jangula of Mandan, ND, Martha Kuntz of Bismarck, ND and Colleen Magrum of Minneapolis, MN six special nieces and nephews who spent their summers and vacations on the farm: John, Gary, Bob, Sharon Jangula, Rita Froelich and Jane Gross. Adam was also "grandpa" to the children of neighbors, Pat and Madonna Silbernagel; step grandpa to Ray Klesch's four children and step grandpa to the children of Larry LaBonne. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Joseph and Bennie, a sister and brother-in-law: Helen and John Bosch; three half-brothers and a sister-in-law, Frank and Ester Jangula and John and Martin who died as infants; a son-in-law, Ron Schumacher and a great granddaughter, Sylvia Thomas.
