Albert G. Dockter, 85, of Pollock, SD, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Linton Hospital, Linton, ND.

Albert was born on November 22, 1934 to Harold Myers and Emma Dockter on the farm in rural Emmons County.

Albert served in the Army from 1956 to January 1959.  He served in Fort Lewis, Washington and Fort Bliss, Texas.  On September 26, 1959 he married Shirley Westbrook.  They celebrated their 60 ^th wedding anniversary on September 26, 2019.

Albert worked for numerous farmers, drove school bus, worked for Wilbert's Service, and Harlan Ritter gas and repair services.  In 1970 he started working for Harold Meyer at Pollock Implement and Lumber. In 1989 Dale Meyer took over the business and Albert continued working there until retiring in 2014.

Albert enjoyed flying single engine airplanes and flying an ultralight.  He also loved to ride motorcycles.  His greatest joy was spending his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Shirley; 2 daughters, Beverly (Brian) Wittmeier, Summerset, SD, Bernice (Richard) Schmidt, Bismarck, ND; 1 son, Dennis (Beth) Dockter, Pollock, SD; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 half-sisters, Judy Blount, Castro Valley, California, Marla Boen, Mount Angel, Oregon and Carolyn Bowmen, Thompson, Georgia; 1 brother Robert (Janice) Myers, Vista California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma Schaffer and Harold Myers; his stepfather Edward Schaffer; his stepmother Frances Myers; sister Martha; brother Clarence; 2 uncles Henry and Luther Dockter; 2 aunts Martha Dockter and Lydia Bell.
