Albert Geigle, 96, of Strasburg, ND, died August 25, 2010 at the Strasburg Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, with the Reverend Paul Eberle and Reverend Albert Leary officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00am to 5:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the church with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Albert was born on a farm near Pollock, on March 30, 1914 the son of Adam and Tillie (Obenhauser) Geigle. He attended and graduated in Pollock, SD. He worked in the grocery store in Pollock. Albert married Margaret Selzler at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on October 23, 1940. Following their marriage, they moved out to her parents farm to help Margarets brother. He also worked at Bauer Station and worked at the elevator for many years, where he served as assistant manager. Albert owned and operated the Strasburg Caf for 6 years, then they opened the Skogmos Store for 6 years., Later, he worked grinding feed. He was also a Watkins dealer for many years. Albert was a member of Strasburg Lions, the Strasburg Fire Department, he also served on the Strasburg School Board., and was a bingo caller. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, where he served as a communion minister. Albert was a life long fan of the Minnesota Twins. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Strasburg, ND; five daughters and sons-in-law: Peggy and Ted Olson of Chaska, MN, Shirley and Andy Schaffner of Bismarck, Carol Taylor of Laguna Niguel, CA, Elaine and Al Speten of Minot, ND and Violet and Jim Ryckman of Mandan, ND; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a sister, Freida Wohl of Wyoming and a sister-in-law, Minnie Geigle of Mobridge, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son (stillborn); a son-in-law, Preston Taylor Jr. four brothers, Henry, Emmanuel, Ted and Oscar and two sisters, Alvina Schaffer and Emma Gunderson.
