Alice Heidrich, 93, Strasburg, ND, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg with Rev. Jason Signalness officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour before service time on Tuesday. Alice (Hager) Heidrich was born on December 21, 1921 to Joseph and Margaret (Baumgartner) Hager in Strasburg, ND. She attended school at rural Strasburg through the eighth grade.On September 23, 1941, Alice was united in marriage to Anselm (Andy) Heidrich at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Strasburg. They farmed southwest of Strasburg until 1966 when they moved into Strasburg. Alice was an excellent cook and worked in the kitchen at Strasburg Public School for many years, followed by several years working in the dietary department of the Strasburg Care Center, until she retired.Alice love to play cards, especially pinochle, with family, neighbors and friends. She left her family with dozens of quilts, blankets, crocheted items and recipes. She also enjoyed gardening, pickling and canning, and spending time with her friends at the Strasburg Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and St. Mary's Alter Society in Strasburg.Alice was an awesome Gramma and spent countless hours playing "King's Corners" and making noodles and other special memories with her grandchildren.Alice and Andy raised four sons: James, Arnold, Harry and Anton. In recent years, Alice lived at the Prairie Rose Apartments in Linton before moving to the Strasburg Care Center in 2012. She had recently moved to the Missouri Slope Care Center in Bismarck, where she passed away on October 24, 2015 at the age of 93.Alice is survived by three sons; James (Dianne) of Minot, Harry (Eileen) of Bismarck, and Tony (Cindy) of New Salem; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Heidrich of Strasburg; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandson; three sisters, Helen Bachmeier, Irene Heidrich and Carol Herner; and three brothers, Pius, Eddie and Joe Hager.Preceding Alice in death were her parents; her husband Andy on July 28, 1979; her son Arnie on January 31, 2002; three grandsons, Anton, Harris and Alex; sisters Julia Feist, Katie Welk, Mary Zacher, and Barbara Silvernagel; and a brother, Andrew Hager.
