Alvin Kelsch, 78, Linton, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, ND with Rev. David Richter officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery. Military Honors by Linton American Legion. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton and continue from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the church, where there will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Alvin was born February 26, 1933 in Linton, ND the son of Joseph and Barbara (Senger) Kelsch. He was raised and educated in the St. Michael's area. Alvin served in the US Army from 1953 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. Alvin married Annette Kelsch on October 16, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hague, ND. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm east of Linton. They also lived in Eugene, OR from 1963 to 1975. They lived on a farm west of Linton before moving to Annette's family homestead. They lived and farmed on this farm until moving into Linton in 2000. Alvin enjoyed carpentry, installing floor coverings, farming, playing cards and most of all visiting with his family and friends. He was a member of Linton American Legion, and an honorary member of Knights of Columbus. Hs is survived by his wife, Annette of Linton, ND; one son and daughter-in-law: James and Carla Kelsch of Bismarck, ND; two daughters and sons-in-law: Karen and Chuck Salber of Vancouver, WA and Carla and Brian Rahn of Lehi, UT; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Tony and Viola Kelsch of Linton, ND and Joe and Joann Kelsch of Linton, ND; one sister and brother-in-law: Loretta and Clarence Burgad of Linton, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kenneth; three sisters: Alice Eberle, Maggie Fischer and Rose Schumacher; three brothers: Louis Rohrich, John Rohrich and Gregory Kelsch Sr.
