Alvina R. Schell, 92, formerly of Linton, ND went to her heavenly home on January 10, 2025 in the Strasburg Care Center, Strasburg, ND.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton with Father Mark Aune officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.  A rosary will be said at 9:30 AM Saturday at the church.  Interment will be held in the church cemetery.

Alvina was born on December 23, 1932 to Mathias and Christine (Scherr) Glass, she was one of eleven children.  When she was six, her family moved to Highmore, SD where they lived for about seven years before moving back to North Dakota where they lived on a farm near Linton.

Alvina married Eugene Schell at St. Anthony Catholic Church on October 3rd, 1950.  Eugene died on December 25, 2007.  Alvina loved to bake, especially for her family and the grandchildren whom she adored.  She also loved dancing, golfing and bowling, which she was the secretary for 36 years.  She attended many sporting events, watching the grandchildren, she also enjoyed watching sports on tv.  Most important in her life were her grandchildren, she loved caring for them.  She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and the Linton American Legion Auxiliary.

Alvina is survived by five children:  Wayne (Corinne) Schell of Green Valley, AZ, Gary (Lou) Schell of Stanley, Dean (Marilyn) Schell and Daryl (Kim) Schell all of Linton and Jackie Schell (George Preston) of Horace; eleven grandchildren: Amber, Wade, Hillary, Shila, Christine, Brandon, Austin, Jordan, Nathan, Katelyn and Sarah; step grandson, Derrick Naumann; 12 great grandchildren: brother, Melvin (Irene) Glass of Mesa, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene; brothers: Aloysius, Peter, Victor, Edmund, Pius, Andy and Eugene; sisters: Lorraine and Frannie.
