Amanda Hoff, 89, of Linton, died peacefully at her home on November 7, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton with Reverend Fred Henkelmann officiating. Burial will be in the Linton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1pm to 9pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton. Amanda was born on October 15, 1922 on a farm east of Temvik, ND, the daughter of John and Barbara (Huber) Heyne. She attended country school. She married Fred Hoff in Napoleon, ND on December 5, 1943. Following their marriage, they established their home and family on a farm east of Linton. Together they raised four children. She was very proud of her milk cows and her chickens. She always referred to the cows she milked. Amanda enjoyed company and loved to cook for people. No one ever left her home hungry! She loved playing the guitar, gardening, cooking and loved to play cards, whist and Befranz. Amanda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who always brought a twinkle in her eye and a smile to her face. Amanda died peacefully at her home on Monday, November 7, 2011. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law: Melvin and Nyla Hoff, Bismarck, ND and Raymond Hoff, Bismarck, ND; one daughter, Loretta Kading, Sioux Falls, SD; nine grandchildren; Linda of Linton, ND, Brenda of Fargo, ND, Jackie of Fargo, ND, Ray of Colfax, ND, Mark & John of Bismarck, ND, Nicole of Driscoll, ND, Jamie of Brookings, SD and Rob of Webster, SD. seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Martha Reuer, Bismarck, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1982, one son, Alfred, one grand-daughter, Sandy Hoff; five brothers, Helmuth, Garrett, Richard, Albert and Alfred; and two sisters: Edna and Alma.
