Angie Silbernagel, 95, Strasburg, ND, went to Heaven on October 7, 2024 in the Strasburg Care Center. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30am October 12, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Fr. Mark Aune officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home, Linton. There will be a prayer service at 7pm. Visitation will continue for one hour before the services on Saturday.  A livestream of the funeral service will be on the funeral home website.

Angie was born on August 12, 1929 in Linton, ND, the daughter of Vera Burgad Holmquist.  She attended school in Strasburg, graduating from the Strasburg High School in 1948.  She attended Valley City Teachers College earning her Teaching Certificate.  Following graduation, she taught country school west of Strasburg for 2 years.

Angie married Adam Silbernagel on October 3, 1949 at Holy Trinity Church at Krassna.  Adam and Angie farmed the family farm west of Strasburg until their retirement in 2006 when they moved to Linton. Angie and Adam raised their 5 children and 1 foster child on the farm. She worked on the farm alongside Adam raising grain, beef and dairy. All her children have great memories working with her while milking the dairy cows.

Angie spent many days and evenings gardening and canning. She made the best kuchen, dill pickles and pickled watermelon and rival soup. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, winning against her family playing Gin Rummy, baking, and cooking while taking care of the household.

Angie especially loved to have time with all her grandchildren. When they were babies, you would always find her in the rocker holding them, humming and rocking them. She enjoyed her time in retirement with grandchildren as many days they would walk to her house after school.

Angie was a member of Strasburg VFW Auxiliary, member of St. Peter & Paul and St. Anthony Catholic Church. She served on the St. Mary's Society and St. Peter & Paul Social Action Committee.

Angie is survived by four sons:  Gary Silbernagel, Strasburg, ND, Daniel (Barb) Silbernagel, West Fargo, ND, Timothy (Cindy) Silbernagel, Farmington, MN and Rodney (Lillis) Silbernagel, Bellingham, WA; daughter, Nancy (Derald) Gefroh, Hague, ND; 11 grandchildren: Karee (Jeremy) Blakeway, Adam (Amber) Silbernagel, Ryan (Kate) Silbernagel, Emily (Danu Vino) Silbernagel, Andrew (Jennica) Silbernagel, Elizabeth Silbernagel, Ethan Silbernagel, Aloysius (Brooke) Gefroh, Cassie (Lance) Weiser and Kimberly Gefroh; 12 great grandchildren:  Paige and Sierra Blakeway, Alex and Ashlyn Silbernagel, Sophie and Josie Silbernagel, Addilyn, Carter and Noah Silbernagel, Elijah and Cecelia Gefroh and Briella Weiser.

She is preceded in death by her mother; her husband; one grandson, Joshua Silbernagel; one brother, Edward Burgad; her foster daughter, Theresa (Kramer) Philips; and her foster parents: Lawrence and Bernice Scherr.
