Anthony G. Knoll, 98, of Strasburg, ND, died May 15, 2011 in the Strasburg Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg with Fr. Paul Eberle officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery, Zeeland, ND with Military Rites provided by: Strasburg VFW, Linton American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday for one hour before the services at the church. Anthony was born on a farm near Hague, ND on October 3, 1912 the son of George and Elizabeth (Krumm) Knoll. He attended rural school. He later worked at Sacred Heart Convent in Yankton, SD. Anthony entered the U.S. Army Medical Corps in 1942 during WWII in Germany. After his discharge in 1945, he married Elizabeth Feist on November 14, 1946 at St. John's Catholic Church, Zeeland. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in Berlin, ND. He also worked for Armor Packing Company until his retirement. Anthony entered the Strasburg Care Center in September of 2003. He is survived by two sisters and a brother in law: Sister Christine Knoll of Yankton, SD and Philippine and Al Feist of Cambridge, MN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; three brothers: Kasper, Joe and Felix; three sisters: Katie Zahn, Mary Feist and Irene Geffre.
