Anton A. Wald, 82, passed away at Sanford Medical Center, in Bismarck, ND on December 3, 2021.
To celebrate Anton's life, there will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND, with a vigil/rosary starting at 5:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND, with Father Shannon Lucht officiating. Myers Funeral Home of Linton will be streaming Anton's service for any family and friends that can't attend at www.Myersfh.com under Anton's obituary.
Burial will take place at a later date.
Anton A. Wald, 82, was born on the family farm east of Strasburg, ND on January 8 th , 1939. He was the youngest son of Anton M. and Ida (Bernhardt) Wald. He attended St. Benedict Catholic School in Strasburg. He married Elaine (Bertha) on September 22,1958 at St. Mary's Catholic church in Aberdeen, SD. Following the marriage, he took over the family farm where they raised 6 children. Farming was Anton's life, he made a great life for the family, working the land and milking cows for 37 years. He continued farming for many years until he then sold the family farm to his oldest son James. He liked playing cards, fishing, collecting antiques and sold many old cars as a hobby. He always had a smile on his face, a wonderful sense of humor and liked to make people laugh. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great, great grandfather. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Strasburg and a Lions Club Member.
Anton is survived by his wife Elaine of 63 years, his children: James (Doris), Randy (Tracy), Cheryl (Michael), Lisa (Todd), Loren (Laura), Brian. Sisters Marie and Alice. Grandchildren: Stefanie, Josh (Bri), Lauren (Nick), Nicole (Ryan), Ranae, Cole, Lance, and Leah. Great Grandchildren: Van, Jett, Morgan, Nicholas, Benjamin, Dylan, Jeremy, Emma, Josh Jr., and William. Great-great grandchild Liam and many nieces and nephews.
Anton was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Benedicta (Pius) Scherr, and brother Martin (Rose) Wald, Felix (Katie) Wald, in-laws Albert and Ann Bertha. Son-in-law Gerard Jangula, grandson Jason Wald, and great grandson Christian Labrensz.
