Obituary

Arlene Regina Kramer, 90, of Strasburg, ND, died December 14, 2025 in the Strasburg Care Center.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery - Krassna with Father Shannon Lucht officiating.  There will be a time of fellowship and refreshments following the graveside service at the Strasburg Carte Center.

Arlene was born in Strasburg, ND, on January 25, 1935, the daughter of Mary (Mitzel) and Magnus Wagner.  Arlene was 1 of 7 children, 5 older sisters and 1 younger brother. She was raised and educated in Strasburg until she entered the 9th grade.  She attended the St. Agnes Academy in Kenmare, ND where she graduated in May of 1953.  She returned to Strasburg.

Arlene married Raymond Kramer on September 24, 1953 at Holy Trinity Church, Krassna.  Following their marriage, the lived on Ray's family farm.  They lived and worked on the dairy farm for over 50 years.  Arlene worked alongside Ray on the farm.  Arlene and Ray moved into Strasburg in 2005, Ray died in 2006.

Arlene was a great mother to her 6 children.  She was an amazing cook and baker.  She could bake anything.  You could always walk into her home and smell something baking.  She also enjoyed sewing.  She was a talented seamstress and sewed various clothes for herself and her family.  Her grandchildren all have fond memories of her, including going to the farm to Grandma's house where there was always cake and cookies on the breakfast table.

Arlene was a member of Emmons Soil Conservation Auxiliary, Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church and St. Mary's Society.  She was part of the VFW Auxiliary and Strasburg Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed volunteering at the Strasburg Care Center, where she often led the Rosary before Mass.

Arlene is survived by her daughters: Joan Kramer, Prince George, VA, Dorothy Likness, Brooklyn Park, MN; sons: Neil (Laurie) Kramer, Jamestown, ND, Calvin Kramer, Centennial, CO; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Kramer, Kindred, ND; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter and her brother, Magnus (Ann) Wagner, Linton, ND, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter, Patricia Kailey; son, Jesse; son-in-law, Cory Likness; infant brother, Daniel Wagner; sisters: Viola Kramer, Rita Feist, Rosebella Volk, Marcella Camell and Valeria Sehn.

Arlene's family is grateful for the love and care she received at the Strasburg Care Center, especially in her final days.  We truly appreciate all your help walking her through her last days.
