Obituary

Arlo William Dyk, 73, Strasburg, ND, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 in the Linton Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Myers Funeral Home Chapel, Linton, ND. Burial will be held at a later date at Westfield Cemetery, Westfield, ND. Arlo was born April 29, 1938 on a farm near Strasburg, ND, the son of William and Freda (Droog) Dyk. He was raised and educated in the Bakker School District. Arlo married Delma Grace Millenaar on July 19, 1955. They lived in several places in North Dakota and South Dakota before settling back in Strasburg. Arlo was a carpenter, but always had a love for farming. Arlo retired in 2011 and returned to his family farm. He was a member of the Harley Davidson Owners Group and the Hope Reformed Church in Westfield. Arlo enjoyed riding his "Harley", spending time with his family and friends and working with his hands. He is survived by two sons and daughter in-law: Delmer and Diane Dyk, Bismarck, ND and Dennis Dyk (Marian Hapip), Mandan, ND; two daughters and sons-in-law: Darlene and Clinton Kost, Herreid, SD and Arvetta and Felix Krumm, Oakes, ND; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law: Beverly Wittenberg, Bismarck, ND and Karen and James McCulloch, Almont, ND; and a special friend, Julie Job, Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother-in-law: Fred Wittenberg.
