Arthur Dienert, 76, of Pollock, SD, died October 26, 2011 in a Bismarck Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Pollock Lutheran Church, with Pastor Ramona Hayes officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Valley Cemetery, Pollock. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the church in Pollock with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Arthur was born on January 2, 1935 in Pollock, SD, the son of Arthur J. and Maudie Louis (Patten) Dienert. He attended school in Pollock. Arthur married Edith Van Beek on October 28, 1955 in Pollock, SD. Following their marriage, he served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. He returned to Pollock to farm and ranch southeast of Pollock. They moved into Pollock in 1991 but continued to farm. Arthur and Edith also owned and operated Lakeview Motel and Campground from 1983 to the present. Together they owned Edie's Square Dance Apparel. Arthur was a Dekalb Seed Corn dealer for many years. Arthur enjoyed working and history, especially local history. He was a member of Pollock Lutheran Church and Pollock Area Development Corporation. He is survived by his wife, Edith, Pollock, SD; two daughters and sons-in-law: Natalie and Steve Frost, Rapid City, SD and Marti and Alan Keller, Strasburg, ND; one son and daughter-in-law: Wade and Pam Dienert, Bismarck, ND; six grandchildren: Camille Olson, David Andrews, Sam Frost, Max Frost, Kirstie Dienert and Jackson Dienert; one brother and sister-in-law: Ronald and Linda Dienert, Mobridge, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his step mother, Helen.
