Beatrice Heer, 88, of Hazelton, ND, passed away March 13, 2020 at Sanford Health, in Bismarck, ND.

Beatrice was born October 24, 1931 at the MacDonald Farm, 6 miles north of Hazelton to Reinhold and Rosina (Schmidt) Werner.  She was baptized and confirmed  at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hazelton, ND.  On June 15, 1953 she married Clarence Neal Heer at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Together they had three children, Denise, David and Dione.  Beatrice and Clarence farmed and later owned and operated Heer's Super Valu for 29 years.

Beatrice was involved in many community activities.  She was a member of the Hazelton Historical Society, church Ladies Aid, and was a Sunday School teacher for many years.    She loved spending time with her grandchildren and godchildren, who were very special to her.

Beatrice is survived by her children, Denise (Donald) Orthmeyer, Dave (Char) Heer, Dione (Donald Richardson) Heer; 4 grandchildren, Kristin (Chris) Meyer, Benajah Orthmeyer, Joel (Whitney) Heer, Jesse Heer; great-grand-children, Emmitt Heer, Branson Heer, Hannah Heer, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (1986); her parents, Reinbold and Rosina Werner; her in laws, Christian and Martha Heer; 1 brother, Herbert; 1 sister in law, Liza; 1 sister, Lila Jane Werner; 1 granddaughter, Kari Orthmeyer.
