Bede Volk, 83, formerly of Linton, ND, died Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Linton Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 9 p.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.Bede was born in Emmons County, ND to Alex and Margaret (Burgad) Volk on his mother's birthday, March 30, 1933. He resided on a farm on the west edge of Strasburg until his marriage to Roberta (Bobbi) Baumgartner in Wheatridge, CO on December 26, 1953. They moved to a farm northwest of Strasburg, moving into Linton in 1979, living there until December, 1999 when they moved to Bismarck.Bede enjoyed cattle and farming, but most of all horses, which he cared for most of his life. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by them.Bede is survived by his wife, Bobbi of 62 years, Bismarck; three children Brenda (Richard) Zacher, Lincoln, ND, Brad (Nancy) Volk, Brian (Vickie) Volk, both of Bismarck; three grandchildren, Barilee (Troy) Tofteland, Nikki Dresser and Blake Volk, all of Bismarck, 2 great granddaughters, Madison and Alexius Tofteland, Bismarck and his sister, Lillian (John) Schneider, Strasburg, ND. Bede was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Frank M and Mary Louise Baumgartner and a nephew, Richard Schneider.Bede's family would like to thank the Strasburg Care Center for their thoughtful care the last 16 months, also to the Linton Hospital for their compassion to the family.
