Obituary

Bonnie Faye Kooker, 65, Linton, ND, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at CHI St. Alexius, in Bismarck, ND.

Bonnie was born on November 2, 1952, the only child of Jacob and Lorretta (Nitschke) Batsch. She grew up and attended school in Jamestown, ND. On December 20, 1969, she married her high school sweetheart, Terry Kooker. The couple lived in Jamestown until 1974, when they moved to Linton where they raised their 5 children. Bonnie spent many years working as a bartender and helping her husband, Terry with his electrician business.

Bonnie was a lover of books and an avid reader; she especially loved a good mystery. She had a passion for gardening, canning, and pickling. She also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. Everyone loved her famous, secret mustard recipe; "No - you still can't have it."

When she wasn't in the garden or the kitchen, you could find her relaxing and working on her cross-stitching or playing with her grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored. She was definitely a lover of animals and never turned away any brought home by her kids. She loved them all, including the ducks. Her outgoing personality and kindheartedness were two traits that were attributed to many friendships made over the years.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Terry; 5 children, Chad, Linton; Donavan (Laurey), Bismarck; Andrea (Ryan) Svalen, Bismarck; Timothy (Shannon Kahl), Linton; Audrey (Todd Cederstrom), Bismarck; 10 grandchildren, Alyssa, Morgan and Megan; Brady, Shane and Lukas; Isabelle, Elsa and Maggie; and Kinsley; her mother-in-law, Betty Kooker, Jamestown; brother-in-law, David Kooker, Medina, ND; two nieces, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. She is also survived by her beloved dog, EJ, and cat Tequila.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law, Richard Kooker, and her sister-in-law, Alice Kooker.
