Brian Schatz, 60, Bismarck, died peacefully at his home on December 10, 2019.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at 10:30 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Linton, ND. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at the Temvik Cemetery.

Brian David Schatz was born on November 10, 1959 to James and Darlene (Humann) Schatz, in Bismarck, ND. He attended school in Linton, ND, was confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church, and graduated in 1978 from Linton High School. Brian spent most of his working years in Bismarck where he was currently employed at Menards.

Brian was friendly, outgoing, and enjoyed talking with people. He was an avid reader and enjoyed genealogy. He was very involved in researching his own family heritage and helped to put together a family history book. He had a unique way of bringing history to life. He especially loved Civil War history and visiting historical places.

Brian is survived by his siblings, Steve Schatz, Milford, OH, Bruce (Alice) Schatz, Linton, and Brenda (Duane) Egge, West Fargo, ND; niece, Carmen; nephew, Craig; 3 great nieces, Jane, Natalie and Claire,  and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
