Brigitta Martin, 91, formerly of Linton, died April 17, 2023 in the Strasburg Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am Friday, April 21, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Linton with Fr. Mark Aune & Fr. Shannon Lucht concelebrating. Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm Thursday with a vigil/rosary at 7:00pm at Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home, Linton.
Brigitta was born on July 13, 1931 on a farm SW of Linton, the daughter of Wilhelm and Katherina (Masseth) Gross. She was the youngest of nine children. She attended country school. She lived and worked with her brothers at the Cresent Supper Club in Spokane, WA. Brigitta returned to Linton where she lived with her mother and worked at Kremers Hardware.
Brigitta married Robert J. Martin on June 2, 1953 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. They lived in Linton where they raised their family. She enjoyed baking and decorated several cakes for many occasions. Brigitta later went back to work at Lee's Hardware, where she worked until she retired.
She was a member of the Christian Mothers and St Anthony Catholic Church. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, daily prayer and praying the rosary, she especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Brigitta is survived by her children: Kathy Martin, Fargo, ND; Kalvin Martin, Robert "Bob" Martin, Bruce (Denise) Martin all of Linton, ND; four grandchildren: Matt Jasper, Alexis (Wendelin) Wangler, Trevor (Shaylyn) Martin and Justin Martin; three great granddaughters: Reese, Rayah and Renna Wangler and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2008; seven brothers: Anton, Jacob, Nicholas, David, Peter, John and Joseph; and one sister, Clara Scherr.
