Carol E. Bear, 81, of Billings, MT, died June 12, 2023 at her residence in MT. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton with Pastor Sean Barnhart officiating.  Burial will be in the Linton Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 1 hour before the services at the church.

Carol was born on a farm East of Linton during a blizzard on January 15, 1942, to Theodore and Frieda (Wudtke) Beck.  The family moved into Linton in the summer of 1942.  Carol attended Linton Public School where she participated in Chorus.  She graduated from Linton High School in 1959.  Following graduation, she remained in Linton and worked at the Linton Creamery, JC Penny's and for Dr. Orchard.

She married Donald Bear of Buchanan, in Jamestown on February 27, 1970.  Following their marriage, they moved to Forsyth, MT where they managed the Gamble's Hardware Store for several years.  They were blessed by the birth of their son, Jason in 1973.  Carol worked for the Montana State Liquor Store for many years in Forsyth, Wolf Point and Glendive.  She also worked at the Glendive Medical Center until she retired.  She moved to Billings in 2020 to be near her son.

Carol and Don enjoyed following their son playing baseball and various other activities.  Her beloved husband died in 1993.  Carol was able to accompany her sister, Linda and Bob Tschritter on yearly vacations, traveling and touring all over the United States and Canada.  Carol enjoyed embroidery and doing puzzles.

She is survived by her son, Jason Bear of Billings, MT and her sister, Linda Tschritter of Linton, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; 3 brothers:  Vernon, Harvey and Wayne and her brother-in-law, Bob Tschritter.
