Carol Dendinger, 80, Zeeland, ND died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Ashley Medical Center, Ashley, ND. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday November 25, 2014 at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND. Carol Ann (Smith) Denginger was called to her Heavenly home in the early hours of November 22, 2014. Carol was born in Clinton, MI, to Carlton R. and Helen (Nyland) Smith on January 12, 1934. The family moved to a farm near Florence, Ohio, where Carol grew up with five brothers and a sister. On September 4, 1954, she married John Dendinger. For most of the next 50 years, Carol and John made their home in Paso Robles, California, where they raised two sons, Bill and Robert. Carol was a USDA inspector for Dole Foods for many years, and she taught Sunday school at St. James Episcopal Church in Paso Robles. Carol enjoyed walking and doing crossword puzzles. In 2001, Carol and John bought and moved to a farm near Zeeland, ND. Carol is survived by her husband, John, Zeeland, two sons, Bill, Bozeman, MT and Robert, Linton, ND, brothers Dick, Roy and Ken "Bud" Smith, all of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Donna Franklin and two of her brothers, Bob and Russ.
