The funeral for Charles Feist, 79, Bismarck, formerly of Zeeland, ND will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Zeeland, ND with Rev. Wenceslaus Katanga officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Zeeland, ND. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND. There will be a prayer service Friday at Myers Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Charles was born April 22, 1931 to John A. and Barbara (Streifel) Feist on a farm near Zeeland, ND. He married Clara Weninger at St. Marys Catholic Church, Hague, ND on November 22, 1954. Charles and Clara began their life together in Pierre, SD, where Charles worked at Oahe Dam as a Diesel Mechanic, making their way to Fort Pierre and then Fort Thompson. They eventually moved to Hague where Charles worked as a as a blade operator and maintenance for Emmons County. In 1976, Charlie started his own repair shop in Zeeland, ND. They moved to Zeeland in 1980 where he worked for the city for twenty years until his retirement. Charles and Clara moved to Bismarck in 2009 where he resided until his death. He was a longtime Knights of Columbus Member and enjoyed his life to the fullest extent. He loved fishing, hunting, and playing guitar. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and their pets. Following their move to Bismarck, Charlie and Clara joined PACE where Charlie relearned how to use his right hand after his stroke. PACE employees were with him every step of the waynot a day went by when they were not there for him. Charles is survived by his wife: Clara of Bismarck, ND, three sons and daughters-in-law: David and Irene Feist, Daniel and Deana Feist, Daryl and Kelly Feist, all of Bismarck, ND; three daughters and and two sons-in-law: Karen and Bill Thompson, Karla and Glenn Schwaderer and Karleen Ketterling, all of Bismarck, ND; seven grandchildren: Dawn (Paul) Moen, Travis Feist, Kari Schwaderer, Jenna Rask, Kristi Schwaderer, Mitch Feist, and Cody Feist; and one sister: Joan Weichel of Prescott, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert, Richard and Willie, one sister in infancy, and two grandsons, Charles Dean Feist and Brian Charles Lambrecht Feist. We especially want to thank all the PACE employees for all they did to help make Charlie and Claras move to Bismarck an easy one.
