The funeral for Clara Fiest, 77, Bismarck, ND, formerly of Zeeland, ND, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Zeeland, ND with Rev. Wenceslaus Katanga officiating. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Funeral Home, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Clara was born December 2, 1933 in Emmons County, ND the daughter of George and Magdalena (Volk) Weninger. She was raised and educated in Hague, ND. Clara was diagnosed with asthma at the age of 12 and has battled it ever since. She married Charles Feist on November 22, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hague, ND. They began their life together in Pierre, SD. They lived in Hague before settling in Zeeland in 1980 where they resided until moving to Bismarck in 2009. Charles died March 2, 2011. Clara was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed sewing, cutting hair and embroidery. Clara's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and their pets. Clara had been a resident of St. Vincent's Care Center where she spent a short time. With the assistance of PACE she was able to get her strength back and was able to live on her own. Clara died April 17, 2011 at her home. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: David and Irene Feist, Daniel and Deana Feist and Daryl and Kelly Feist, all of Bismarck, ND; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Karen and Bill Thompson, Karla and Glenn Schwaderer and Karleen Ketterling, all of Bismarck, ND; seven grandchildren: Dawn (Paul) Moen, Travis Feist, Kari Schwaderer, Jenna Rask, Kristi Schwaderer, Mitch Feist and Cody Feist; and one sister, Rose Eberle of Hague, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on March 2, 2011, two grandsons, Charles Dean Feist and Brian Charles Lambrecht Feist, and one brother, Frank Weninger.
