Clara Lipp, 96, of Strasburg, ND, died November 8, 2024, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM with a rosary/vigil service at 7:00 PM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.

Clara, born on August 1, 1928, in Linton, North Dakota, to Wendelin Vetter and Elizabeth Feist, spent her early years immersed in the simplicity and strength of rural life. Growing up near Hague, ND, Clara attended a country school, forming a foundation of resilience, kindness, and faith that would guide her throughout her life.

On September 30, 1947, Clara married Leo Lipp at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hague, marking the beginning of a remarkable partnership. Together, they built a life on the Michael Lipp homestead near Hague, where they spent many years farming, raising their family, and contributing to the community. Later in life, they moved to Strasburg, but their hearts remained forever tied to the land they had worked and loved.

Clara was a pillar of her community, involved in organizations like the St. Mary's Altar Society, VFW American Legion Auxiliary, the Homemakers Club, Strasburg Senior Citizens, and St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Her commitment to service shone through her years of work and volunteering at the Strasburg Care Center. Known for her warm smile and gentle spirit, Clara embodied kindness and generosity in everything she did.

Her kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with the comforting aromas of fresh-baked bread, pies, and hearty meals that nourished the soul as much as the appetite. Her hands were never idle, always busy creating warmth and beauty. Clara's home was adorned with her handiwork—from delicate crocheting and intricate embroidery to her remarkable furniture refinishing, each piece crafted with love and telling its own story. When she wasn't inside her house, she could be found outside in her garden, nurturing flowers and vegetables with the same care she poured into everything she did.

Beyond her skills as a cook and crafter, Clara was known for her lively personality. She loved playing cards, making trips to the casino, and kept friends and family laughing with her quick wit and playful jokes. Her warmth and humor brought a special magic to every gathering, filling her home with laughter, music, and the lively joy of dancing. Time spent with Clara meant good food, great company, and cherished memories that lingered long after the evening ended

Among her many talents, Clara had a love for driving her golf cart around Strasburg, earning her the affectionate title of the "Taxi of Strasburg." She loved picking up her friends, sharing laughs, and even racing down Main Street. Her adventurous spirit and sense of fun made her a cherished friend and companion to many.

Family was Clara's pride and joy. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whose visits brought her endless happiness. Her weekly visits with Father Shannon nourished her faith, which remained a guiding light throughout her life.

In her later years, Clara delighted in simple pleasures, like a meal of McDonald's chicken nuggets, fries, and a strawberry shake – her last meal, savored with the same joy she brought to every moment.

Clara is survived by her children, Silas (Darcy) Lipp, Russell (Donna) Lipp, Leane (Jack) Schaffer, Diane (Tom) Kiefer, Bruce Lipp; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love and strength. She joins her beloved husband, Leo, her son Randy, her parents, and her four brothers and five sisters in eternal peace, the last of her ten Vetter siblings to reunite with the Lord.

Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, known for her spirited personality and caring heart. She had a beautiful collection of angels, with countless figures of all kinds displayed throughout her home. Now, heaven has gained the most precious one of all. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, faith, and love, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Strasburg Care Center for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Dakota Veteran Memorial Cemetery in her honor.
