Claude
Saville
Dec 24, 1940 — Jun 18, 2010
Claude F. Saville, 69, Hazelton, passed away peacefully at his home on June 18th, 2010. Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kintyre, ND, on Thursday, June 24th at 11 a.m. with Rev. R. Hagestaen officiating. Following the service there will be a celebration of Claude's life at the Braddock Community Center. Claude was born in Bismarck, ND on December 24th 1940 to Frank and Elsie Saville. He was raised in rural Hazelton on the family farm. He attended a small country school and graduated from Hazelton High School in 1959. Claude then completed two years at Wahpeton and a brief attendance at Texas A&M. He married his high school sweetheart Clarice (Ackerman) on March 4th 1962 in Hazelton. They have one son and daughter-in-law Mitchell (Darcie), 2 grandsons and a future grand daughter-in-law, Ryan (Jennifer) and Casey. Claude loved farming and spent his life working the family farm. When he was not working on the farm he loved to go fishing, camping, hunting, flying, motorcycling or just visiting and playing cards with his friends. But his pride and joy was to do all of the things he loved with his family. Claude was an avid pilot since 1969 and was especially proud when his son became a third generation pilot in the family to fly solo. He was filled with pride when his grandson Ryan became the 4th generation student pilot to fly solo, using Claudes beloved Piper Cherokee that he owned since new, making him the 4th generation pilot in the family. Thus the love of flying is a tribute to the relationship Claude shared not only with his father but also with his son and grandson. In his later years Claude again took to motorcycling, owning a Harley Davidson motorcycle, that he enjoyed taking on trips short or long with his family and friends . He was looking forward to a special trip with friends to Colorado in July. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Clarice, Hazelton, his son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell (Darcie), Grandsons, Ryan (Jennifer Faris) and Casey, all of Bismarck, one brother and sister-in-law, 3 bother-in-laws, John (Edna) Ackerman, Bismarck, ND, Ralph Baker, Strasburg, ND, Troy Keifer, Yuma, AZ and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
