Cleo Delyghte Haid, 93, Linton, ND, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Prospera Sunset Drive, Mandan, ND.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton, ND.
To protect the health and safety of all, services are currently being limited as required by state and local authorities and the CDC. There will be a livestream of Delyghte's service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday via the Myers Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MyersFH . Cleo Delyghte Haid was born April 2, 1927, in a sod house by Sand Creek in Emmons County, to Albert and Lydia (Sawyer) Grenz. Later her parents and family moved to Temvik, ND. Delyghte married Jacob Haid on December 13, 1942 in Seattle, Washington. Following their marriage, they moved to Temvik, ND where they farmed and ran a gas station. During this time they had a son, Jerry and a daughter, Sally. In 1948 they moved to Linton and had another son, Jim. Jake farmed and moved houses.
Delyghte worked as a waitress and cooked at Renchler's Restaurant and the Linton Livestock Barn. When Jake started custom combining, Delyghte drove a grain truck and did the cooking and cleaning. In 1965, they moved to the farm 3 miles north of Linton and farmed and raised cattle until 1999.
Delyghte was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed having company and her neighbor Leroy and Joyce Jahner come over and play cards. Jake died on July 10, 2007. Delyghte continued to live on the farm until she went into the Strasburg Care Center on February 27, 2020. She then spent a week in the Sanford Hospital before going to the Prospera Sunset Home in Mandan.
Delyghte is survived by her son, Jim Haid, Linton, ND, daughter, Sally (Steve) Huizenga, Westfield, ND; daughter in law, Rose Haid, Linton, ND; 8 grandchildren, Nichole (Brandon) Barry, Tami (Randy) Rudnick, Chad (Sarah) Huizenga, Clint (Kellie) Huizenga, Chris (Colleen) Huizenga, and Jeremy Haid, Rachel (Juan) Postigo, Brandi (Pat) Wanner; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great step grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 6 great great step grandchildren and 1 on the way; 1 sister, Vera Parsons of Irving, Texas; sisters in law, Eunice Grenz and Irene Grenz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jake Haid; son, Jerry Haid; 4 brothers, Lee, Neil, Eugene and Jim; 2 sisters, Ruby and Joy.
