Curtis (Curt) Hollaar, 59, of Strasburg passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at his home.

The family invites everyone to join them on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. for a Time of Remembrance to honor and remember Curt at Myers Funeral Home. Prayer Service will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hull Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Shawn Abbas officiating.

Curtis (Curt) Arlin Hollaar was born March 27, 1962 to Jim & Mildred (Dornbush) Hollaar in Linton, ND. Growing up on the family farm SE of Hull, Curt learned the value of hard work.

Curt attended Bakker Elementary School in Westfield and graduated from Pollock High School in 1980. He attended Lake Area VoTech in Watertown, SD. Curt traveled across the U.S. working construction and welding jobs. Curt moved closer to home and later settled in Strasburg, working as a truck driver, farm laborer and repairman.

Curt enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, riding motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends. Curt took pride in mentoring his nieces and nephews in fishing, welding, wiring, carpentry, and mechanical skills. He organized tractor pulls, pickup pulls, tractor treks, and kids' pedal tractor pulls. He was active in several local groups including Beaver Valley Horse Club, Strasburg Lions, Voices for Lake Oahe, and Wildlife Clubs.

Grateful to have shared his life are his dad Jim Hollaar, sisters Sandi Vander Wal and Mardel (Bruce) Ochsner. His nieces and nephews, Ron (Tiffany) Vander Wal, Kari Johnson, Lee (Jessica) Vander Wal, Marie Vander Wal, Tyler (Lisa) Ochsner, Chad Ochsner, Makendra Ochsner and Nicole Ochsner. 13 great nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Curt was preceded in death by his mom, Mildred Hollaar. Grandparent's Ike & Hattie Hollaar and Cornie & Elizabeth Dornbush.
