Dale Fish, 65, rural Pollock, SD, passed away peacefully in his home on June 6, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 10:30 am at Sannes Feist Funeral Home, Linton. Interment will follow in the Westfield Cemetery and then lunch at the church.
Dale was born to Kenneth and Mary Fay (Thompson) Fish on January 13, 1961. He was raised on the family farm North of Pollock where he developed the strong work ethic and appreciation for rural life that remained with him throughout his life.
Dale drove semi cross country for a few years then he built a career as a proud union worker. He started with the Labor Union 563 before continuing as an ironworker with the Ironworkers Local 793 and then merged with Ironworkers Local 512. He took great pride in his work and the friendships he made throughout his years in the trade.
Dale was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed college football, the WNBA, and the NFL. Following the death of his beloved special friend Elizabeth (Liz) Belgarde, on June 29, 2022, Dale spent much of his time at home watching sports and keeping an eye on Cameron’s deer. He deeply loved his family and especially cherished time with his adopted grandchildren.
Dale is survived by his brothers, Kim (Laurie) Fish of Pollock and Brock Fish; six nephews, Damien, Jonathon (Diana), Cameron (Tapanga), Brandon (Carolina), Quinten (Tiffany) and Nathen Fish and one niece, Naomi Hegwood and three great nephews, Casen, Liam and Oliver and four great nieces, Reagan, Else, Callie and Carsidy. He is also survived by his ‘stepson’, Ricky Belgarde and his adopted grandchildren, Le Lani, GI Auna and Sylais Belgarde. Dale is survived by his aunt, Loretta (Kenneth) Gagnon, as well as cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his special friend, Elizabeth Belgarde and his parents, Kenneth and Mary Fay Fish and a brother, Gregory Fish and his uncle, Kenneth Gagnon.
Dale will be remembered for his love of cards especially Pinochle and for his dedication and loyalty to those he loved, His hard work and the contentment he found in life’s simple pleasures will always be remembered. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
