Obituary

David Gabriel, 53, of Hague, ND, died Saturday, October 4, 2014, near his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague, ND. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and continue from 5 to 9 p.m. at the church where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. David (Dave) Allan Gabriel 53, son to Aloys and Barbara (Schiele) Gabriel, was born April 1, 1961, in Fargo ND. As a young boy, he lived on the Gabriel family farm 6 miles north of Hague, ND. In the Spring of 1970, they moved to Strasburg, ND, where he spent the remainder of his childhood. He initially attended Hague Public School, switching to St. Benedict's grade school in Strasburg, ND through the 8th grade. He attended Emmons Central High School and graduated from Strasburg Public High School in 1979. Following high School, Dave lived and worked in Bismarck, ND and Texas. Eventually, Dave moved back to the Gabriel family farm north of Hague, ND, where he made his home. On April 13, 1991 he married Deanna Buchholz. Together they have 2 daughters, Mateena Vianna-Rose Gabriel, May 4, 1989 and Chasity Lynae Gabriel, August 21, 1991. In the following years Dave became a skilled and successful grain and livestock farmer, well known in the community and industry. He was joined on the farm by Corinne Coalter along with her son Joshua (Josh) Coalter. On October 4, 2014 Dave passed away as a result of a motor vehicle accident near his home. Dave, a loving and supporting father leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and pride in hard work. Dave will forever live in the hearts and lives of his two daughters, Mateena and Chasity Gabriel, both of Bismarck, ND; Corinne and Josh Coalter, Hague, ND, one sister, Deb (Duane) Van Beek, Aberdeen, SD; one Niece: Christie (Nathan) Schaunaman, Redfield, SD; one nephew: Michael Van Beek, Vermillion, SD; 3 great nieces Alicia Van Beek, Taryn and Emrie Schaunaman, Redfield, SD 2 great nephews Joshua and Aiden Schaunaman, Redfield, SD, his special Aunt, Vivian Nagel, Alexandria, MN and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents. Dave was good-natured, a hard worker, and always planning his next endeavor. He was well known for his humor, and laughter. He was a kind, thoughtful and generous man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
