Obituary

David (Rex) Richard Wolbaum of Braddock, ND passed away after a battle with cancer at Sanford Medical Center, in Bismarck, ND on November 23, 2021.

To celebrate David's life, the family will be hosting an open house Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND, with a vigil starting at 7:00 p.m. Led by Deacon Ken Wolbaum

Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Katherine's Catholic Church, Braddock, ND, with Father Bruce Krebs officiating. Myers Funeral Home of Linton will be streaming David's service for any family and friends that can't attend at www.Myersfh.com under David's obituary.

Rex was born on October 1, 1952 to Jacob and Margaret (Feist) Wolbaum in Bismarck, ND. He grew up on the family farm west of Braddock, ND. He graduated from Braddock High School in 1970. He worked for a short time in Bismarck at Jim's Ready Mix and Melroe before he returned to farm in 1972.

Rex married Fonda Meidinger on June 26, 1982 in Wishek. They were married for 39 years and were blessed with three children.

Rex was an active member of St. Katherine's Catholic Church where he served on the parish board and cemetery committee. Rex enjoyed camping, fishing, and golfing with his family and friends. He played pool, softball, and bowled on men's leagues for many years. He enjoyed spending time walking along the creek and could be found driving around the country looking at his crops.

He is survived by his wife: Fonda of Braddock; His children: Matthew, Braddock; Michael, Hazelton; Megan (Kyler) Weigel, Bismarck; Grandchildren: Raelynn and Rhett Weigel, Bismarck; Sister: Patty (Dennis) Leier, Jamestown.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
