Donald Dean Stoppler, of Linton, North Dakota, passed away on October 6, 2020.

Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Stoppler will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2020 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, ND with Father Dave Zimmer officiating. Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2020 prior to the service. Donald was born in Linton, ND on June 2, 1960 to Frank and Mary Alice (Bosch) Stoppler. He grew up in Linton, ND with his family. Donald graduated from Linton high school in in 1978. While in high school he played football and wrestling. Being a kicker for the football team is where he received the nickname footsie. Donald loved to spend time with his father growing up learning how to make homemade sausage, a recipe that still carries on. On September 25, 2004 Donald married the love of his life Danielle and they had three children together, Shaeli Ekstein, Brett Ekstein, and Elizabeth Stoppler.

Donald loved spending time working on the farm and raising cattle. He had many passions in life, but some of his favorites were camping, fishing, horseshoes, pinochle but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a soft heart and loved his family.

He had a good sense of humor and if he could find a way to make you smile, he would.

There was nothing Donald wouldn't do for his friends or family. He was always lending a helping hand; just ask and he was there.

Although Donald is no longer with us his love, laughter and kindness will always be in our hearts he will be sorely missed but not forgotten.

Donald is survived by his wife Danielle; daughter, Shaeli Ekstein; son, Brett Ekstein; daughter, Elizabeth Stoppler; Mother, Mary Alice; sister Kathy Rex; brother, Darrell (Sharmaine) Stoppler, Bismarck, ND; brother, Kenny Stoppler, Fargo, ND; brother, David (Jodi) Stoppler, Minot, ND; brother, Bradley Stoppler, Moffit, ND; sister, Debbie Stoppler, Linton, ND; sister, Glennella (Wayne) Keller, Bismarck, ND; brother, Cavin Stoppler, Bismarck, ND, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews Donald is preceded in death by his father Frank Stoppler.
