Obituary

Donald Weisbeck, 80, of Herreid, SD, died March 29, 2013 at a Eureka, SD Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Herreid, SD with Fr. Thomas Clement officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 9:00am to 4:00pm at Myers Funeral Home, Linton and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the church in Herreid. There will be a prayer service at 7:30pm. Donald Weisbeck was born on July 23, 1932 in Herreid, SD, the son of Herman and Marie (Schall) Weisbeck. He was raised on a farm west of Herreid. Donald married Cyrella Keller on October 2, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague, ND. Following their marriage, they settled on a farm four miles west of Herreid. He was a dairy farmer and did custom baling where he traveled throughout North Dakota. Donald was a member of the Herreid Jaycees and a member of the Campbell County Stars Square Dancing Club. He was an avid fan of all local sports teams and the love of his life was farming. Donald died March 29, 2013 in Eureka, SD. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cyrella, Herreid, SD; seven children: Jacqueline and Terry Borr, Rapid City, SD, Ricardo and Diane Weisbeck, Eureka, SD, Jennifer and Gary Overby, Tracy, CA, Jeffrey and Stephanie Weisbeck, Mesa, AZ, Jacinta and Ed Shortzmann, Rapid City, SD, Randall and Kathy Weisbeck, Aberdeen, SD and Junella and Curt Kost, Vermillion, SD; twenty four grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; two sisters: Rita Fjeldheim, Herreid, SD and Virginia Silvernagel, Bloomington, MN; six brothers and sisters-in-law: James and Eileen Weisbeck, Herreid, SD, Cyril and Viola Weisbeck, Palentine, IL, Raymond and Rose Weisbeck, Herreid, SD, Leonard Weisbeck, Herreid, SD, Walter and Paula Weisbeck, Prescott, WI, Eugene and Jackie Weisbeck, Rapid City, SD; and a sister-in-law, Ellen Weisbeck, Herreid, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, James, an infant granddaughter, Danyelle Weisbeck and a brother-in-law, Orland Fjeldheim.
