Donna Mae Senftner, 74, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022. Cremation has taken place and funeral arrangements are being handled through Myers Funeral Home of Linton, ND. Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, March 24 at 10:30 AM, with the Rosary beginning at 10:00 AM, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Herreid, SD, with Father Mark Axtmann officiating. Inurnment will take place after the service and there will not be a visitation.

Donna was born at home on July 14, 1947 to Anthony and Erna (Schweigert) Jund in Zeeland, ND. A 1965 graduate of Zeeland High School, Donna went on to ND State School of Science and worked as an administrative assistant in Fargo. In 1966, on a trip to purchase a car in Herreid, SD, she met Richard Senftner at Senftner Chevrolet. The two made a connection and were eventually married on July 13, 1968. Donna worked at the family dealership for many years. They were blessed with two sons, David and Scott.

Donna had a talent for cooking and baking. She also had a soft spot for cats, and even gave a permanent home to a few strays over the years. Donna was a wonderful, supportive mother and she will be dearly missed. She was active in the church and community of Herreid. An avid football fan, she enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Her love of music filled the home.

Donna is survived by her sons, David of Herreid, and Scott (Jill) of Bismarck. Other survivors include her brother, Ray Jund and sister, Mary Hamann.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and siblings Elsie, Frances, Cecelia, Bob, and Tom.
