Dorothy M. Nicklos, 90, formerly of Linton, ND died March 21, 2026 in a Bismarck hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton with Father Mark Aune officiating. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. There will be a rosary/vigil service on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home, Linton.
Dorothy was born September 11-1935, the daughter of Stephen and Elsie Ridl (Brablec ) in Dickinson, ND. Dorothy was raised on a family farm in South Heart, ND and attended school in Dickinson, graduating in 1953.
Dorothy married Richard Nicklos on June 23-1954. They had 2 sons -Curtis (March 13-1955) and Clyde (March 22-1959) at St Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson. They lived on a farm in New England until moving to Dickinson in 1959 and eventually moving to Bismarck where Carla was born (September 30-1963) at St Alexius Hospital. While in Bismarck, Dorothy was employed by J.C. Penney in the shoe department.
In 1967, the family moved to Linton and purchased the HUT bar, which they ran for 27 years. After selling the tavern, Dorothy worked at the Green Lantern and the golf course in Linton for several years. Dorothy's husband, Richard Nicklos passed away in 2017. Dorothy was supported by several friends in their hometown of Linton but Agnes Wald, a very close friend, would always invite Dorothy over for a snack which always resulted in a complete meal (according to Dorothy)-with a smile on her face.)
Dorothy moved to Bismarck in 2019 residing in the Crescent Manor-which offered several amenities and activities. Dorothy enjoyed playing Wi Bowling with other residents and was quite competitive. She enjoyed going to play Bingo and would always complain when she got down to one number "They will not call my number." Well, Jesus called her number and took her home. Dorothy enjoyed games and cards with family and was referred to as the "Gin Champ. "
Dorothy is survived by 2 sons: Curtis (Debbie) Nicklos and family, Clyde (Karen) Nicklos and family, Daughter, Carla (Pat) Feist, all of Bismarck; 5 grandchildren: Ryan (Melonie) Nicklos-Bismarck, Chad Nicklos and Mersiha- Mandan, Mathew (Amanda) Nicklos-Dickinson, Drue and Danielle Nicklos- Anchorage, Alaska; 7 great grandchildren: Parker, Bexley, Remmy, Alessa, Lukah, Jace and Mia; She is also survived by 3 sisters: Mary Ann Nordaby, Florida, Darlene (Bill) Pratt, Florida, Delores (Gene) Bovino, Delaware; 2 Brothers: Don Ridl, Alaska and Ken (Charlotte) Ridl, Dickinson and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; Brothers: Bob and Stevie; Sister, Ida and parents:Stephen and Elsie.
