Leslie "Dude" Gimbel passed away in his home on October 23, 2021.

Service's will take place at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND on Wednesday, November 3 ^rd at 11:00 a.m. Following the service Dude's family invites everyone to join them at the Moose Lodge #425, 111 11th Ave NE, Mandan, ND 58554.

Dude was born on May 6th, 1953 in Bismarck, ND the son of Simon & Beverly (Bower) Gimbel.

Dude graduated from Hazelton High School in 1971. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army. Dude attended North Dakota State School of Science at Wahpeton in 1974 for sheet metal. Dude worked various jobs throughout the United States. He retired from the Nevada Test Site in 2013 and moved back to Hazelton near the river where he spent days doing what he loved.

He enjoyed visiting family & friends, golfing, rodeos, road trips, gardening, playing cards and was always willing to help someone in need. During the Christmas season Dude would decorate his trees & yard with Christmas lights bringing joy to all who drove by. His smile and sense of humor will always be remembered.

Dude is survived by 4 daughters:  Summer & Fady (Venice, CA), Amber (San Diego, CA), Stormy (Sioux Falls, SD), Fawn Steinfurth (Raleigh, NC), 1 son, Nicholas (Ashland, ME), 1 brother Terry (Bismarck, ND), 1 sister & brother-in-law Shelly & Shane Flaagan (Tolna, ND) 4 grandchildren: Jaelynn Steinfurth & Riley Blanchard (Raleigh, NC) and Noah & Jacob Kilada (Venice, CA), nieces, nephews, cousins, and his special companions Louie, Lenny & Lucky.

Dude was preceded in death by his parents Simon & Beverly Gimbel and a brother Simon Jr.
