Duke William Rosendahl, 77, of Hazen, ND, died December 3, 2024 in the Knife River Care Center, Beulah, ND.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Linton, ND with Fr. Mark Aune officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home, Linton.  There will be a prayer service at 7pm.

Duke was born in Bismarck, ND January 23rd, 1947, the son of William Rosendahl and Catharine (Gimbel) Rosendahl.  Duke was raised in Hazelton, North Dakota and graduated from Hazelton High School in 1965. After graduating high school Duke joined the Army National guard and was discharged the same year from injuries suffered from a car accident. He married Phyllis (Kelsch) Rosendahl on September 27th, 1969. After starting a pizza delivery business out of their home in Hazelton, he eventually opened a restaurant in Linton in 1976 and moved his family there to operate "Duke Place" pizza restaurant and teen center. After closing the doors of the restaurant in the early 90's, Duke obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Mary in business and economics. He worked as a rural economic developer for Linton, Wishek and Hazen communities until retirement.

Survivors include his sister, Joan (Rosendahl) Pfeifer and brother-n-law Philip Pfeifer, of Belvedier, Il; his wife, Phyllis, Hazen; one daughter, Shannon (Rosendahl) Larson and son-n-law Mitch Larson (Windsor, Colorado); one son, Duke Rosendahl and daughter-n-law Lisa (Mariage) Rosendahl (Traverse City, Michigan); six grandchildren, Audrey (Larson) Johnson and husband Dylan, Alise Larson, all of Fort Collins, CO; Mathew Larson and Amelia Larson, of Windsor, CO; Providence Rosendahl currently residing in NYC, NY and Monroe Rosendahl of Traverse City, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

Duke was preceded in death by his parents.

If you knew Duke, you knew his heart belonged to his home in ND. His family was his pride and joy and his passion for the arts, writing, music, and cooking was passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was everyone's biggest cheerleader in life. In his later years, he spent much of his free time researching his ancestry. Duke was probably most known for his career in the pizza restaurant business (Duke's Place in Linton) and his band "The Ravens", of which he played with for 50+ years.
