Obituary

Eddie Silbernagel, 95, formerly of Linton, ND, died peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Sanford Health, Bismarck.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at11:00am on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at St Anthony Catholic Church, Linton, ND.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held for 1 hour before the services.

Eddie was born October 27, 1929, in Selfridge, ND, and was one of twelve children born to Felix and Katie (Gross) Silbernagel.

On July 25, 1951, Eddie married Tillie Krumm. Together they built a life farming and raising cattle for 38 years. Eddie developed a passion for horses and restoring horse buggies. He worked for RDO Potato Farms until the admirable age of 80.

Eddie possessed a vibrant spirit and a genuine love for life, with an infectious laugh and remarkable storytelling abilities. He found simple pleasures in everyday life, particularly the outdoors and fishing. He also cherished card games and delighted in the opportunity to dance. His passion for music and dancing brought light and laughter to those around him.

Eddie and Tillie were blessed with eight children: David (Judy) Strasburg, ND; Josie (John)  Maple Grove, MN; Vicki (Mark) East Grand Forks, MN; Jeanette (John) Bismarck, ND; Sandy (Bryan) Herreid, SD; Violet (Jeff) Maple Grove, MN; Debbie (Bill) Bismarck, ND; and Roxanne (Steve) Maple Grove, MN. Also leaving behind 27 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.  Surviving siblings are: Maggie, Eugenia, Joey, and Valerie.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, his beautiful wife of 64 years, grandson, Steven and great grandson, Brooks. His brothers: Leo and Robert; and 5 sisters: Ann, Mary, Lena, Lillian, and Arlie.

Eddie will be deeply missed by his family and countless friends. May his memory be a blessing, bringing comfort and smiles to all who knew and loved him. Gone fishing, but never forgotten.
