Elaine E. Stramer, 95, formerly of Hazelton, ND died November 11, 2022 at a Bismarck Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hazelton with Fr. Mark Aune officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm Tuesday at the Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home, Linton. There will be a prayer service at 7:00pm.
Elaine Stramer was born June 11, 1927 in St. Cloud, MN to James W. and Hildegard V. (Hilger) Twomey. She graduated from Cathedral High School 1945 and continued her post secondary education and graduated from the College of St. Benedict 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education.
She married William M. "Bill" Stramer on April 6, 1953 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, St. Cloud.
Throughout her years, she had over twenty years of dedicated service. She taught high school history in Hazelton ND. She worked as the business manager in Emmons Co. Special Ed. Unit, and served on the Hazelton School Board.
Elaine was an invaluable business partner to William with many great contributions to success in their family farming business.
Elaine was a devoted and loving mother to: Douglas, Stephen, Mathew, Ann and Todd. Grand Mother to: Elizabeth, Grace and Hannah (Stephen and Joy)
Elaine will always be remembered among many things for her love of learning, her wisdom, her artistic talents, her ability to listen, and her beautiful smile. Her faith in God as an absolute source of Love, Strength and Resolution in her life to guide her Husband and Children.
She is survived by her children: Douglas (Maria), Stephen, Mathew, Ann and Todd; Sisters: Renee Twomey, Barbara Wolf (Bob); Brother, Dave Twomey (Mary); Sister in-law, Joan Twomey (Jerry)and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William on January 18, 2015; brothers: James and Jerry; sisters: Kathleen Pecchia (John Pecchia), Hildy Nolan (Dick Nolan), Julie Wenner (Nic Wenner), Ione Daniel (Melvin Daniel), and her Mother and Father In-law Clara and Mathew Stramer.
