Elizabeth Dornbush, 98, Platte, SD, formerly Westfield, ND, died Monday, August 3, 2015 at Platte Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at Hope Reformed Church, Westfield with Rev. Floyd Haan officiating. Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before time of service at the church on Friday. Elizabeth "Te Beest" Dornbush was born July 3, 1917 on the family farm south of Hull, ND. Elizabeth was the daughter of Gerrit and Minnie (Van Heukelom) Te Beest. She attended country school. On November 6, 1936 she married her best friend Cornelius Dornbush. God blessed their union with nine children. Elizabeth made profession of her faith in Jesus at the Hope Reformed Church of Westfield, ND. After marriage the family moved from farm to farm before settling on the Dornbush homestead southwest of Westfield, ND. Elizabeth was a busy mother who raised nine children, gardened and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She made many a quilt for children and grandchildren. Elizabeth and Cornie moved into Linton, ND in 1999. They entered the Strasburg Care Center in 2003. Cornie passed away in 2004. Elizabeth moved to the Platte Care Center in Platte, SD in 2007 and passed away there on August 3, 2015. She is survived by two sons: Roland and Verl both of Pollock, SD; three daughters: Delores (Al) Kuipers, Platte, SD Jan Dornbush, St Cloud, MN and Cheryl Dornbush, Rapid City, SD; two sons-in-law: Jim Hollaar, Herreid, SD and Arnie Huizenga, Aberdeen, SD; 21 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren; one brother-in-law Merlin Dornbush and one sister-in-law Al Dornbush, Becker, MN She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Cornie, two sons: Harlen and Kennie; two daughters: Mildred Hollaar and Charlotte "Char" Huizenga: two daughter-in-laws Gladys Dornbush Seymour and Kathy Dornbush; one brother John Te Beest; one sister Johanna Bosman.
