Obituary

Elizabeth Volk was born in Hague, ND on January 28, 1914 the daughter of George and Barbara (Miller) Volk. Elizabeth married Peter J. Volk on June 5th, 1939 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Hague, ND. Following their marriage, they made their home on a farm west of Hague. Pete and Lizzie had three sons and continued to farm west of Hague until 1966 when they moved into Hague. Pete died in March of 1994. After Petes death, Lizzie worked as a cook at the Hague School for 12 years. Lizzie was a housewife who enjoyed reading, playing cards, and visiting with her friends and family. She also enjoyed crocheting, and gardening and the company of her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Marys Society. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Maryann Volk of Herreid, SD, James and Elsie Volk of Bismarck, ND and Ray Volk of Lincoln, ND; thirteen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law: Cecilia Volk of McLaughlin, SD, Agnes Volk of Mobridge, SD and Luella Volk of Federal Way, WA; one brother-in-law, Deward Roth of Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Peter; two infant grandchildren: Scott Volk and Debbie Volk; nine brothers and three sisters.
