Elsie Ferderer, 88, formerly of Linton, ND, died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Strasburg Care Center, Strasburg, ND. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton, ND with Pastor Sean Barnhart officiating. Burial will be in the Linton Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Home. Visitation will continue for one hour before service time on Friday at the church. Elsie Johanna Schiermeister was born September 10, 1927, west of Hazelton, ND, the daughter of Fred and Caroline (Serr) Schiermeister. She attended country school, often riding her horse to get there.Elsie married Paul Ferderer on November 9, 1947 and they lived in Linton for a short time. They moved to a farm south of Linton, where they spent the rest of their lives together, farming and raising their family.Elsie spent her life helping Paul on the farm. She was a very sensitive and caring person. She loved her three children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her husband as much as a person can love another. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family. All she ever wanted was a hug and a kiss from her loved ones. Grateful to have shared her life are her two sons; Dennis (Rosie) and Kevin, all of Linton; seven grandchildren, Lea (Brent) Weber, Melissa (Chris) Seaton, Jason Hess, Matt (Kim) Ferderer, Heather (Jason) Rossow, Paul (Marie) Ferderer and Jace Ferderer; seven great-grandchildren; and special caretakers, Nadine Held, Madison Schatz and Cerasi Voigt, who provided loving, tender care for the last year that she was able to live in her house with her husband, Paul, on their farm. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, just three short weeks ago, her parents, daughter, Fern, four brothers, Edwin, Rueben, Herb and Melvin, and grandson, Steven Wood. A special thanks to the nursing staff at the Strasburg Care Center for the kindness and care they provided.
