Emerald Beck, infant daughter of Matthew and Corrina Beck, Eureka, SD, was stillborn Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in a Bismarck Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2013, at Herreid Community Center, Herreid, SD. There will prayer service on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Herreid Reformed Church, Herreid, SD.Emerald Kennedi Beck was born on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at 12:18 p.m. to parents Matthew and Corrina Beck and proud big sister McKenna. She weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. and was 21 inches long. When she found out she was going to have a baby sister, McKenna gave her the special nickname of Emerald. On the day of her birth, her parents decided she needed a special name and with her big sister in mind, they decided to name her Emerald Kennedi Beck. Emerald spent her life being loved through her mommy's tummy. Her sister would hug and kiss her through mommy's tummy all the time, and she would talk and sing to her. Sometimes McKenna would lay her head on top of Emerald and sing to her and Emerald would kick her back to let her know she heard her. We celebrated having her as long as we could carry her. We will await the day when we will all be reunited as a family in heaven. Emerald is deeply loved by her mommy and daddy and big sister, McKenna of Artas, SD; her grandparents, John and Mary Wiest of Herreid, SD, Gene and Theresa Samelson of Redfield, SD ; great-grandparents, Darwin and Gina Keltgen of Watertown, SD, and Floyd and Gladys Beck of Ipswich, SD; aunts and uncles, Caleb Wiest and Samantha Wiest of Herreid, SD, Travis and Stephanie Vojta of Durant, OK, Brian and Nancy Wysocki of Norfolk, NE, Amy Beck of Artas, SD, and Marcus and Nicole Beck of Artas, SD; cousins, Grace and Adam Wysocki, Riley, Bailey and Stevie Vojta; and so many other wonderful people. She was preceded in death by her Papa, Kenneth Beck, great-grandparents, Virgil and Mary Samelson, and Robert and Helen Mettler.
