Evan Clinton Sauter, 44, of Linton, died on February 7, 2026, following complications from a long and courageous medical battle. Evan was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son and brother, and a man whose life was defined by hard work, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to his family and legacy.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Linton Baptist Church in Linton, North Dakota.  There will be a prayer service on Wednesday at 7:30pm at the church.

Evan Clinton Sauter, born August 24, 1981, in Linton, North Dakota, to Kathy (Kelsch) and Clinton Sauter. He was raised and educated in Linton and graduated from Linton High School in 1999.

Evan married the love of his life, Jade, on June 10, 2006, and together they built a life rooted in family, faith, and perseverance. He was a proud and devoted father to his three children, Landyn, Mady, and Eli, who were the center of his world and his greatest motivation in everything he did.

Evan's true passion was ranching and life on the farm. In 1999, he took over the family operation and poured his heart and soul into the land. With grit, determination, and an unmatched work ethic, Evan worked tirelessly to strengthen and improve Sauter Farms, preserving it as a fifth-generation family legacy. He had an unmatched eye for cattle, with a deep understanding of how to feed, manage, and market livestock, and he took great pride in making thoughtful decisions that improved both the herd and the operation as a whole. The farm was not just his livelihood — it was who he was. Every long day, every hard season, and every sacrifice was made with the future of his family and the legacy of the farm in mind.

Throughout his life, Evan faced significant physical challenges and lived with ongoing pain, but he endured it with quiet strength and dignity. He fought hard — not for recognition, but for the people he loved. Even in his hardest moments, Evan continued to show up for others, carrying burdens without complaint and always putting his family first.

Evan is survived by his wife, Jade; his children, Landyn, Mady, and Eli; his mother, Kathy (Don) Moos; his siblings, Sara (Jimmy) Seiler, Eric (Keriann), and Steven (Crystal); his mother and father-in-law: Tom & Robin Ryckman, his sister-in-law, Steph; and his seven beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Alvin & Delores Sauter and Greg & Malonia Kelsch, his brother-in-law, Tommy, who passed away in 2003.

Evan will be remembered for his loyalty, resilience, and deep love for his family. He was a man of quiet strength, strong values, and unwavering dedication. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his legacy lives on through his children, his family, and the land he worked so faithfully.
