Felix A. Wald, 88, of Strasburg, ND passed away on Monday, December 10th, 2018 at the Strasburg Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 15th, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hague, ND.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm on Friday, December 14th, 2018 at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery.

Felix was born on October 23rd, 1930 to Anton M and Ida (Bernhardt) Wald. He grew up on the family farm east of Strasburg. Felix married Catherine (Katie Glatt) Wald on July 8th, 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hague, ND. They were married 65 years when Katie passed away on July 6th, 2018. They had 10 children, 6 girls and 4 boys. They farmed east of Hague until their retirement in 1992 when they built and moved into their new home in Strasburg.

Felix was a member of the Hague Knights of Columbus, Strasburg Lions Club, Germans from Russia Society and the Pioneer Heritage Group. He served many years on the Hague school board and the Hague snowmobile club.

Felix met Katie at a dance at the Strasburg Blue Room. Describing Katie he said, "There were lots of girls from Hague but Katie was the prettiest". He carried her high school graduation picture in his walled his entire life! They always enjoyed dancing polkas and waltzes and are likely dancing together right now!

Felix and Katie also loved traveling together, seeing most of the United States, Canada and much of Europe. Germany was a favorite as they found some long lost relatives there. Felix also enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada and Alaska with his friends.

Felix was a farmer, skilled wood craftsman, plumber, electrician, and jack of all trades... always ready to lend a helping hand where needed. He loved to decorate the house for Christmas and won many contests doing so. Holidays and other family gatherings were very important. There was always so much joy, laughter, food and Dad's "red eye" and "Chateau LaSalle" wine to be shared.

Felix is survived by his 10 children, Jody Wald (Jim Wahl), Gary (MaDonna) Wald, Kathy Weninger (Scott Steckler), Janet Wald (Chuck Markel) all of Bismarck, Duane (Eileen) Wald of Hague, Karen (Dennis) Hulm of Strasburg, LeeAnn (Tony) Jangula, Dean (Audrey) Wald and Darin Wald all of Bismarck, and Carrie (Doug) Gefroh of Hague; 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren with 2 more arriving very soon; 3 sisters, Benedicta Scherr, Marie (Pat) Kaikani, and Alice (Jim) Johnstun; and brother, Tony (Elaine) Wald.

He was preceded in death by 2 stillborn children; his parents; Katie's parents, Lambert and Barbara (Wangler) Glatt; brother, Martin (Rose) Wald; and brother-in-law, Pius Scherr.
