Obituary

Frank was born March 30, 1932. on a farm near Strasburg, ND, the son of Walther and Barbara (Schiele) Stoppler. He attended rural school. Frank entered the U.S. Army in April, 1952 and was discharged in April 1954. He returned to ND and worked at Riverdale on Highway 83. Then he returned to the family farm. Frank married Mary Alice Bosch on July 19, 1955 at Rosenthal Catholic Church, Linton, ND. Following their marriage, they farmed for a year before moving to Milwaukee, WI, where he worked for Briggs & Stratton CO. In 1958 they returned to the family farm where they farmed and also ranLinton Lumber from 1975 to 1976. They continued to farm until 1996 when they purchased the Willows Motel and retired in June, 2002. Frank was a member of Strasburg VFW Post 6264 and Linton American Legion Post 54. He was also a life member of Knights of Columbus. Frank is survived by his wife: Mary Stoppler of Linton, ND; five sons and four daughters-in-law: Darrell and Sharmaine Stoppler of Bismarck, ND, Kenny and Kathy Stoppler of West Fargo, ND, David and Jodi Stoppler of Minot, ND, Donald and Danielle Stoppler of Linton, ND and Bradley Stoppler of Moffit, ND; three daughters and one son-in-law: Kathy Rex of Fargo, ND, Debra Stoppler of Linton, ND and Glennella and Wayne Keller of Bismarck, ND; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren; and one step-brother, Felix Bernhardt of Linton, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
