Frank Purintun, 86, formerly of Hazelton, ND, passed peacefully into heaven on April 12, 2019, with his family by his side at Augusta Place, Bismarck, ND.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Linton United Methodist Church, Linton, ND.  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND with the prayer service starting at 6 p.m.

Frank was born on March 28, 1933 at the family farm southeast of Hazelton, ND, the son of Mark and Frances (Ross) Purintun. He attended rural grade school until 8 ^th grade, near the farm, and graduated from Hazelton High School in 1952. He entered the US Army in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1956.

Frank married the love of his life, Marlene Rau, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Linton, ND on November 22, 1956. They had three children, Linda, Deborah and James. Frank and Marlene lived and raised their children on the family farm. They lived their last 6 years in Bismarck, enjoying retirement.

Frank was a quiet, humble man who enjoyed farming the land. His quick wit and sense of humor was loved by all who knew him. Frank enjoyed traveling with his wife Marlene and their many friends throughout the years, but his greatest enjoyment came from supporting his grandchildren in their various activities.

Grateful to have shared his life, are his wife of 62 years, Marlene; his children, Linda (Jim) Koenigs, Rochester, MN, Deborah (Floyd) Jahner, Plano, Texas and James (Corene) Purintun, Hazelton; nine grandchildren, Jason (Brekka) Greff, Ashley (John) Hegge, Kelly (Nick) Powers, Jordan, Tyler and Michael Jahner, Justin (Nicole) Purintun, Tanner (Rikki) Purintun, and Jonathon Purintun; nine great-grandchildren, Hannah Greff, Audrey, Jack and Ava Hegge, Emma, George, James and Anthony Powers and Grayson Purintun; brother, Rev. Wayne Purintun, Marrow, Ohio; sister-in-law Loretta Rau, Linton; brother-in-law, Larry Humann, Linton; and many nieces and nephews and their families. He is also survived by many close and dear friends that are too numerous to mention.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Magdalena and Ernest Rau; an infant sister; sister, Mary Lou (Purintun) Humann; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard Rau, Charles and Violet Tracy, and Dottie Purintun; nephew, Glenn Maier; and nieces, Brenda Rau and Susan Tracy.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations are made to the Linton United Methodist Church, in Linton, ND.
