Harry, the third son of Harry and Josephine (Mitzel), was born on December 3, 1924, at St Michaels, east of Linton, ND. The family moved to the Braddock community when he was five and settled west of Braddock. Harry attended Dana School for several years.
Harry married Magdelena (Lena) Jangula on March 29, 1948, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Braddock. For a short period, they lived with Harry's family before purchasing the Baxter farmstead across the creek and two miles north. After three years, Harry and Lena built their new home by pounding every nail themselves. Harry's creative carpentry/engineering skills were ongoing until they moved from the farm in 2012. They lived in Linton a short time, and he spent his last years in Mandan. Harry and Lena were small grain farmers and raised turkeys for twelve years. Harry found great pleasure loading gravel, which was in abundance in their land. Their children understood his pleasure and quoted, "Harry can give up anything but loaders and Lena."
Harry was a member of St. Katherine Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 5955, Lions Club, and Braddock Senior Citizens. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his family. He also enjoyed the outdoors including trapping, snowmobiling, tobogganing. Harry and Lena were great dancers; which became a treat to watch.
Harry is survived by his wife Lena, of 70 plus years. They have five children: Wanda (Elvin) Agnew, Bismarck and their children Kristen/Andrew Vetter and Dennis/Tricia Agnew, Kenneth (Connie), Braddock and their children Shana/Todd Klee, Amanda/Clint Fuller, and Justin/Sarah Wolbaum, Karen (Ken) Mittleider, Mandan and their children Randall/Christina Mittleider and Steven/ Erica Mittleider, Annette (Charles) Pavlicek, Linton and their children Aaron Pavlicek, Magen Pavlicek and Jonathan/Brittany Pavlicek, and Bonita (Glenn) Hangaard, Hankinson and their children Carley /Adam Dub, Greta/Mitchell Leifert, and Daniel Hangaard. Harry greatly enjoyed his nineteen great-grand-children: Mya, Precious, Angeline, Derek, Madelyn, Grace, Sophia, Harrison, Mason, Caydon, Blake, Parker, Isaac, Scarlett, Juliet, Isabel, Madison, Levi, and Liam. Harry has three living siblings, Josie Keller, George Wolbaum and Gus Wolbaum (MaryAnne) and sister-in-law Eleanor Wolbaum.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and four brothers; Jacob, Joseph, Michael, and Franklin.
