The funeral for Herbert Ketchum, Jr., Linton, ND will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton, ND. Burial will be in the Linton Cemetery. He died Wed. May 26, 2010 in the Linton Hospital.Visitation will be 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND and continue one hour before time of service on Saturday. Herbert Ketchum, Jr., was born October 9, 1914 in Linton, ND, the son of Herbert C. Sr. and Sophia (Wentz) Ketchum. He attended country school west of Linton. Herb was an independent truck driver prior to his marriage. He was also a brand inspector for many years. He married Caroline Backhaus at St. John Lutheran Church on June 12, 1938. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed west of Linton. In 1945 they moved to a farm north of Linton. Caroline died September 11, 1999. Herb moved into Linton in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and gardening. Herb was a member of Peace Lutheran Church Council, Germans from Russia and Linton Senior Citizens. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Bonnie and Rodney Eberle of Hague, ND and two grandchildren, Camilla Eberle of Hague, ND and Allen Eberle of Minot, ND. Herb was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Caroline in 1999, three children, Kenny, Tommy and Kathleen and one brother, Kenneth Ketchum.
