Hermina Jochim, 94, Strasburg, ND, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am on Friday, January 11, 2019, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 pm at Myers Funeral Home, Linton and from 5:30-8 pm at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 pm.
Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Hermina was born on March 14, 1924, to Max and Philomena (Brickner) Heidrich. She attended rural country school. On May 20, 1946, she married Jack Jochim at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Krassna, southwest of Strasburg. They farmed 18 miles west of Strasburg for over 50 years.
Hermina enjoyed cooking and baking. Some of her favorite hobbies included embroidering, reading, word search, and jigsaw puzzles, watching her favorite soap operas or a good game show, and of course, visiting family and friends for a game of cards. But, her biggest joy was when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren would come to visit.
Hermina also enjoyed the time she spent writing for Strasburg news column for the Emmons County Record for over 20 years and volunteering at the Strasburg Care Center for 10 years.
Hermina was a member of the St Mary's Catholic Aid Council, a senior citizen in Strasburg and Linton. They moved to Strasburg on January 18, 1997, then moved to Linton on March 19, 2005. She entered the Wishek Living Center in April 2012.
She is survived by seven daughters, Jolenta (Pete) Penoncello, Alice Taillefer, Melissa Jochim, Janet (Wilbert) Goldade, Sheila (Chuck) Job, Esther (Sean) Peck, Rita (Terry) Holzer; Five sons, Kenny (Doris) Jochim, Jerome (Annette) Jochim, Kevin (Lori) Jochim, Gerard Jochim, Glenn (Sue) Jochim; her sister Veronica Paul; Sisters-in-law, Irene Heidrich, Irene Blasl and Luella Jochim; 27 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; her infant daughter, Mary; her children, Lavern (Dwaine) Braun, Florian Jochim, Danny Jochim and Davey (Cece) Jochim; grandson, Greg Jochim; granddaughter, Tammy Baumgartner; great-granddaughter, Karli Ann Holzer; three sisters, Anna (Peter) Braun, Rofina (John) Braun, Rose (Artie) Voller; Eight brothers, Edmond Heidrich, Harry (Elizabeth) Heidrich, Carl (Katie) Heidrich, Jacob Heidrich, Anselm (Alice) Heidrich, Eugene (Ramona) Heidrich, Magnus (Helen) Heidrich, Max Heidrich; three brothers-in-law, John Paul, Clarence Jochim and Dennis Blasl.
