Hilda Schiermeister, 93, formerly of Hazelton, ND, died June 29, 2010 in the Linton Hospital. Funeral Services were held at Myers Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 with Rev. Adam Roberts officiating. Burial was in the Hazelton Cemetery. Hilda was born April 1, 1917 on a farm west of Hazelton, ND, the daughter of Karl and Dora (Burkhardt) Grenz. She attended country school. Hilda helped out on the family farm. She was her dads right hand. She married Leopold F. Schiermeister in Hazelton, ND on July 3, 1937. Following their marriage they lived and farmed west of Hazelton. Leopold retired from farming in 1986. Leopold died on February 18, 1986. Hilda continued to live on the family farm. She entered the Strasburg Care Center in December of 2009. Hilda died June 29, 2010 in the Linton Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and visiting with family and friends. Hilda is survived by two sons: Don L. Schiermeister and Keith Schiermeister, both of Hazelton, ND; five daughters and three sons-in-law: Caren Murdoff of Athens, WI, Viona and Ray Fairchild of Fargo, ND, Hollie and Douglas Weiser of Bellview, WA, Paula and Alan Watson of Columbia, SC and Sheree Raynes of Grand Junction, CO; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one sister and brother-in-law: Betty Lou and Marvin Schumann of Carrington, ND as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Carl, Elmer, Herb and Herman, and three sisters, Doris, Lucille and Erna.
